Digital Forensics

Digital media analysis

Security cameras, dash cams, in-vehicle systems, and phones capture a great deal. We turn that footage into valuable measurements using a variety of sophisticated techniques.

We perform planar and three-dimensional photogrammetry on stills and video to establish the position, distance, speed, and timing of vehicles, pedestrians, and events. The same techniques measure vehicle crush, curb heights, and elevation changes from historical photographs.

Scope

What this covers

Photogrammetry

  • Reverse projection from surveillance and dash camera video
  • Close-range photogrammetry of vehicle damage and crush
  • Camera matching and lens distortion calibration
  • Measurement of curb height and vertical discontinuity from photographs

Video

  • Speed and position over time
  • Event timing and sequencing
  • Frame rate, timestamp, and metadata verification
  • Enhancement within the limits of the original recording
